Who is with you?

Did you ever wonder this? A small selection of images from this theme that has been running through my head. When do you see people care about one another? Will you see it today? Its difficult and challenging to think about. But there is so much beauty in life!

Berlin Germany, Part II

Berlin up close and personal is a unique city that takes time and will power to decipher. I hope to achieve both of these virtues. Here you can see a sampling of the artistry that Berlin attracts to it. In my short time there, I have a sense of something unique about Berlin. I can not put my finger on it, and this is what intrigues me about this seemingly familiar city. Someone told me that Berlin is like NYC was in the 80s. I wasn't here or old enough to understand this concept but if my history holds up, I can imagine this. An artist community that exists only a city like Berlin that seems to reinvent itself quite regularly. Every one of these particular shots were actually taken by Grit Hiersemann. We worked together so closely and inseparable on shooting during our time together, that the body of work we accumulated is vast and very interesting. It was the first time I ever worked together with another talented photographer to achieve such a unique view point. I will do this again with her on future projects.

Berlin Germany

Oh my. This is The Reichstag. I was lead here blindfolded and stumbling into the great field that is in front of this massive building. A dark and chilly evening amongst a long walk through Berlin. Please enjoy your life! Take time to discover every corner of ever part of the world you live in. Here is some info to get you started:
The Reichstag building in Berlin was constructed to house the Reichstag, the original parliament of the German Empire. It was opened in 1894 and housed the Reichstag until 1933. It again became the seat of the German parliament in 1999 after a reconstruction led by internationally renowned architect Norman Foster.

I forgot to mention, you must pass through some parts of your life before you can enjoy the anticipation. And this, Brandenburg Gate will take you to The Reichsag. Its worth it. Don't you agree? Especially at night. Like this particularly beautiful night.

The Brandenburg Gate (German: Brandenburger Tor) is a former city gate and the symbol of Berlin, Germany. It is located on the Pariser Platz and is the only remaining gate of a series through which one formerly entered Berlin. One block to its north lies the Reichstag. It constitutes the monumental termination of Unter den Linden, the renowned boulevard of linden trees which led directly to the royal residence. It was commissioned by Friedrich Wilhelm II as a sign of peace and built by Carl Gotthard Langhans from 1788 to 1791.

Do Not Go to Amsterdam........

unless you want to fall in love with the city and expect to want to move there. I am so serious about this...... It is amazing. I will tell you why if you ask me any questions about it. In the meantime enjoy my views of the city from the water to children to me. :)

Amsterdam, and Holland for that matter, are complely Bike Friendly. Everywhere are bycycles. More bikes on the streets than cars. Bicycalists have the right of way always. And with so many of them, I only saw one crash. It was horrible. The man just lay on the ground bleeding from his head untill the ambulance came swept him up and off he went. I'm sure he is fine. Riding a bike in Holland and getting lost is just about the most fun thing one can do to forget about stress and worry and remember what life is about.

And here are some additional pictures of Grit through my eyes. Its been so much fun with her!

and Grits nephew......He is 2.5 years old.

and just 2 final images that are so completely random. I hope you enjoy all of this as much as I did experiencing it.....

Again because of the amounts of people riding their bikes, there is an excessive amount of schlepping going on with their belongings. Here are a couple of miniature Dachshund puppies. I saw a whole family on a bike. Dad riding, biggest daughter on back and 2 smaller children strapped to the side somehow. And it worked!

Germany Part 2

So another Day deep into the HeArt of Germany......let me give you a visual reference of where I am now located.........

This town is called Jena. Can you believe that in the middle of this town they have a botanical gardens with a lagoon inside. Typical German fashion they chose a particular fish to fill the lagoon. Not Koi, not goldfish, not sweet sunnies, this lagoon was filled with Piranha. Only a small sign stuck hidden behind some foliage warned people of putting there hands into the water. Can you imagine this in the US? The place would be filled with bloody fingers in a day and a major lawsuit would close the place down. I love this about Germany. People here have incredible amounts of common sense!!!

This is a main street in Jena after leaving the botanical gardens.............
