Happy Halloween

this is me turning into the Undead, and this is my friend Steve as my MOM:

Did you know?:
The term Halloween, and its older spelling Hallowe'en, is shortened from All-hallow-evening, as it is the evening before "All Hallows' Day"[1] (also known as "All Saints' Day"). The holiday was a day of religious festivities in various northern European Pagan traditions, until Popes Gregory IIIGregory IV moved the old Christian feast of All Saints Day to November 1. In Ireland, the name was All Hallows' Eve (often shortened to Hallow Eve), and though seldom used today, it is still a well-accepted label. The festival is also known as Samhain or Oíche Shamhna to the Irish, Calan Gaeaf to the Welsh, Allantide to the Cornish and Hop-tu-Naa to the Manx. Halloween is also called Pooky Night in some parts of Ireland, presumably named after the púca, a mischievous spirit. Many European cultural traditions hold that Halloween is one of the liminal times of the year when spirits can make contact with the physical world and when magic is most potent (e.g. Catalan mythology about witches, Irish tales of the Sídhe).

Sundays Night Cap

To end my wonderfully exhausting weekend of shooting, I had an editortorial for Paper Magazine. "My Favorite Thing" this time around was Richie Richs (from Heatherett) awesome 70s style Roller skates. Followed by an Andy Warhol shirt that Levis is producing and a box of soap........My place stills smells so nice from those.

My weekend marathon shoot

I shot for an upcoming story in Time Out NY about where people are from in NYC. I have attached a map of my travels within a few boroughs.....
These are the people and places I saw. In no particular order. Just a long haul of a day to meet this many people and get to all of these locations. It was a beautiful two days. No rain only blue skys and perfect weather. You can see how much life I witnessed in all of these shots.

My Immortal Arm

.....A vague recollection stirs in our souls..About the timeless mold and form everything comes from that is eternal and immutable.

Toronto Star Editorial

I photographed 3 main portraits for The Toronto Stars entertainment section recently. Some major players in the Theatre world.

Christopher Bond and writers George Reinbaltt and Frank Cipolla for The Evil Dead

Composer Stephen Schwartz of Pocohontus and Wiked

Producer Cameron McIntosh produces everything major on Broadway

New Looks Of NYC

This is for an upcoming Time Out New York issue on humor. There will be a parody of the Public Eye section. These 3 comics from The Drink At Work Show are spoofing different areas of Manhattan and the character's that live here. I liked shooting them because they were actors, so it was much easier to get character's out of them. Actually I didn't have to do much at all, they knew how they wanted to be portrayed. Which is fun and exciting to be around.

Another beautiful Night in NYC

This was outside of a party I was shooting this past week and saw this great scene. It was so clear and beautiful out this night and the Empire State Building was white, which its not that often.

Jack started out by crying and then quickly enjoyed Himself.

This is Jack. He lives in my building 2 floors up. His mom, Kyra, asked if I would take some shots of her son. He is a good boy but has his mind set on what he wants to do. So his disposition is resistance. It took awhile to calm him down and I found a balloon to be a great distraction until he chased it and feel on his forehead. Above are the tears from that accident. He settled down after 10 minutes and we shot for about another 20 minutes before he just gave up and stared at me..... :)
